Piedras Blancas Lighthouse Tour – 9:45

Tours are offered Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, excluding Federal holidays. Meet at he former Piedras Blancas Motel, located 1 1/1 miles north of light station at 9:45 a.m. Do not wait at the gate to the lighthouse. $10 for adults, $5 for ages 6-17, and free for children 5 and under.. October 3

Oktoberfest – 12 noon – 8:30 p.m. Vets’ Hall 1000 Main St.

This annual party offers German food (prepared by our own Linn’s!), beverages, music, dancing and singing. The Mudskipper Band will provide live German music. Entertainment will be provided by local groups, which last year included Cambria Line Dancers, Cambria erman Folk Dancers, Solvang Villae Folk Dancers, Ballet Folklorico Cachanilla (Mexican Youth Folk Dancers from Atascadero) and Benat Serat (Morro Bay Belly Dancers). This year Bob Steuwer’s Jitterbug and Swing Dancers will also perform. Audience participation events include a Men’s Ugly Legs contest, Ladies Lovely Legs contest, Chicken Dance contest and Foxy Dachsie dachshund beauty contest, sponsored by American Legion Post 432, St. Paul’s Episcopal Church and Santa Rosa Roman Catholic Church. Proceeds benefit local charities. OKTOBERFEST IN CAMBRIA IS WUNDERBAR!

Cambria Scarecrow & Harvest Festival – Noon – 4 pm Cambria Historical Museum

Cambria Scarecrow & Harvest Festival, Saturday, Oct. 10, noon to 4 p.m. Sponsored by the Cambria Historical Society. Scarecrows handcrafted by local artists will take their posts throughout the small village of Cambria for this celebration of the autumn harvest. Families can craft their own scarecrows and enjoy a picnic lunch, rootbeer floats, live bluegrass music, craft booths and farmers market at the Cambria Historical Museum. Pie bakers can win $100 gift certificate at Robin’s restaurant harvest pie-baking contest. Other businesses will offer wine tasting, seasonal foods and more.

Harvest Wine Weekend

Savor the sight, sound, smell and taste of harvest, the most colorful time of year in Paso Robles Wine Country. Always held the third weekend in October, wineries welcome you to celebrate the new vintage with a combination of activities including special winemaker dinners, exclusive barrel samples, seminars, barbecues, live music and winery tours. You may even get a chance to stomp some grapes. Harvest your wine country experience in Paso Robles during Harvest Wine Weekend.

Saturday, October 17th: HOT GLASS & COOL WINES! Watch Harmony Glassblower manipulate molten glass into works of art. Then “head up the road” for a unique wine experience at our hilltop tasting room. Enjoy handcrafted, artisan wines and gourmet “grilled” pizzas. Glassblowing demonstrations 12pm-3pm. $15/pp $12/Club. Reservations required. Discounts on glasswork and wines all weekend.
