October 17-18, 2009 – 63rd Annual Clam Festival

Join the fun in downtown Pismo Beach. A parade on Saturday morning kicks off this annual event. Followed by a clam dig, music and food. Famous Clam Chowder Cook-off.

October 4, 2009 – Art in the Park @ Dinosaur Caves

Art in the park @ Dinosaur Caves is proud to announce its third year of promoting local artisans of the Central Coast. This once a month event takes place at Dinosaur Caves Park in Shell Beach along the path where the ocean meets the cliffs. The event takes place the first Sunday of every month May through October with over seventy local artists and craftsmen selling and displaying their work. The art include paintings, sculpture, pottery, glass artist, textile, jewelry, wood and metal furniture, and much more. Along with the sale of fine arts, the event offers live music, hands-on children’s activities, fresh flowers and plants, BBQ, and on-site massage. October 23-25, 2009 – Jubilee By The Sea Jazz Festival

This traditional Dixieland Jazz Festival with it’s oceanfront setting, offers a weekend of music, dancing as well as 20 bands from the U.S. and Canada. Great Clam Chowder and Santa Maria Style BBQ.  Web Site

October 31, 2009 – Pumpkins on the Pier

The special Halloween celebration, “Pumpkins on the Pier,” will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Pismo Beach Pier. A Trick or Treat Extravaganza will take place from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. in local downtown businesses. If it rains, the event will be held at the Shell Beach Veteran’s Memorial Building, 230 Leeward Street.

Children 12 and under can participate in a pumpkin decorating, crafts, bounce house, and carnival games.

The City of Pismo Beach Recreation Division and the Pismo Beach Business Improvement Group (B.I.G.) sponsor this event. It is offered free to the community. For more information, contact Pismo Beach Recreation at 805-773-7049.
