SLO Symphony’s Pops By the Sea

September 6th

Every Labor Day Weekend the San Luis Obispo Symphony turns a golf course into a concert hall for a family-friendly, community concert event that has become a Central Coast tradition.

On Sunday, September 6th, Maestro Michael Nowak and the San Luis Obispo Symphony will present Pops Goes Hollywood! the 18th Annual Pops by the Sea concert at the Avila Beach Golf Resort.

I Madonnari Street Painting Festival

September 12 & 13

Each year in September, the plaza of the Old Mission in San Luis Obispo California is transformed with colorful, large-scale street paintings created by artists and young people.

The artists or “madonnari” begin working on Saturday morning of the weekend and continue drawing throughout the two-day festival, September 12 & 13. The San Luis Obispo Mission is located at the corner of Broad and Monterey Streets.

Cygnet City to the Sea Half Marathon & 5k Run / Walk
Sunday, October 11th, 2009
Join us for a some a fun workout during the 14th annual City to Sea half marthon. Run from downtown San Luis Obispo to Pismo Beach.

San Luis Obispo’s Plein Air Painting Festival
September 28th- October 4th
Celebrating California’s Central Coast Landscapes….through art! For one week, artists painted the beaches, barns, boats, vineyards and other scenic landmarks in San Luis Obispo county. Throughout the week enjoy seeing the artist create their masterpieces, great art events and you are even able to take a piece of the central coast home with you through the art auction at the end of the week.
