Possibilities: Pear Valley Winery

Tasting Room

Pear Valley Winery Tasting Room

Owned and operated by Tom & Kathleen Maas, Pear Valley Winery is a life-long dream that has turned into a fun and successful dream for the couple.  It all began for Tom when he was stationed in Germany amongst a vineyard.  Decades later after the kids had grown and moved away, they purchased 20 acres in 1999 and got to work.  Today, the property boasts 113 acres of quality grapes grown with environmentally sustainable farming methods.  Their philosophy is simple:  “…to grow the best fruit possible and then interfere as little as possible. Crop sizes are limited to about 2 tons per acre to showcase the power and intensity of the grapes. The grapes are aged 2 years on a combination of new, one year old and neutral American, French and Hungarian Oak Barrels. The wines then spend another year in the bottle before being released for consumption where we hope they are consumed with the same joy they were developed with.  Enjoy!

Featuring a wide selection of red varietals, from the Red Table Wine to a Syrah, there is surely something that will not only tempt but satisfy your pallette.  Prices are very decent, with all but one being in the $15 to $25 range.

Pear Valley Winery also has some great free and low cost activities this summer!
