Spotlight – Fog Catcher Inn

“The charm of an English seaside village, just steps away from Moonstone Beach.”

A few years ago, I kidnapped the hubby to Cambria, CA. He had a few days off from graduate school and was supremely stressed out. After doing some heavy research online, I found a great deal at a little hotel on – of course – Moonstone Beach Drive – Fog Catcher Inn. We got a beautiful king-size bed with a garden view and complimentary deluxe breakfast each morning in their dining room. What a deal! I can’t remember what the rate was, but hubby was quite impressed with my savvy saving.

From the Fog Catcher Inn website: Located just footsteps from Cambria’s beautiful Moonstone Beach, the Fog Catcher Inn has an Old English feel with contemporary conveniences. With its rounded thatched-style roof, flower-lined brick paths and fireplace in every room, Fog Catcher Inn is the perfect romantic getaway.

One of my best memories of the Fog Catcher Inn is how quiet and peaceful the location is. Moonstone Beach Drive isn’t a main road, per say, you’re not in the middle of town at all. But there are quite a few visitors and beach combers so it can get busy. This hotel welcomes pets and families with children, and yet feels very private, like a bed and breakfast atmosphere. Amenities include complimentary wireless Internet access, bathrobes, use of the pool and spa, parking, microwave, and refrigerator. No room at the inn? Owned by Pacifica Hotel Company, there is a property just down the drive – Best Western Fireside Inn and they have the same luxurious accommodations that Fog Catcher Inn has.

Fog Catcher Inn also has activities for their guests. For example, the first Friday of every month features a gathering in their dining room to sample wine from a local winery in the Paso Robles 46 West Wine region (46 refers to the highway connecting Highway 1 to Interstate 5.)

A variety of exiting and unique packages are also available to add onto your stay. Love to fly and drink wine? The hot air balloon and wine country package is for you! Want to feel like you are part of the 1920’s? Check out the Hearst Castle package. Many come with gift certificates towards dinner at your choice of 3 local restaurants.

Full of charm in a relaxing atmosphere, Fog Catcher Inn is guaranteed to make your stay in SLO fun, exciting, and completely memorable!
