Hi everyone,

Wow, a lot can happen in a year! With plays, work, the move to Washington State, and adventures in home ownership, I have little time to dream of traveling even in state, much less the lovely Central Coast. I am also about to embark on my biggest adventure yet – motherhood. Our son is due April 5. My promise to you is to bring you more things to enjoy in SLO, but also in my new home state. With my friend Sam by my side, who is a fantastic photographer, you can expect some really exciting things to happen on this blog in 2012.

Wine 4 Paws

The third annual Wine 4 Paws event is taking place April 9 and 10, 2011. Over 50 wineries from the region are taking part, and so should you! What better way to support the community and your 4-legged friends than to participate in an event that will ensure their health and happiness at the Woods Humane Society (Hey, if my kitties are happy, then I’m happy)!

Well it’s been much longer than two weeks, and for that I sincerely apologize. My husband and I bought a house, as you knew before, but I didn’t know how much work it would be, nor did I realize how much my full time job would be such an energy sucker! I’m also acting again. For now, it’s safe to say that my priorities have shifted, and and I will check back hopefully in May, when things have settled down (I hope).

Featured artists Judy Schuster and Friends. This will also be a juried show open to other fiber artists. Allied Arts will co-sponsor this exhibit with The Cambria Ball & Skein Shop. Cambria Memorial Weekend Event in Historic East Village - 10 am-4 pm
Shops and restaurants will offer music, food and fun activities all weekend. Cambria Historical Museum will be open 10 am to 4 pm Friday through Monday. On Saturday, historian Dawn Dunlap will lead Walking Tours from the Museum throughout East Village at 10 am and 2 pm. Cost $20/includes a picnic lunch in the Museum gardens. The Arroyo Grande Strawberry Festival named the place to be on Memorial Weekend by Sunset Magazine!

As one of California’s largest festivals and premiere festival on the Central Coast this family-style event brings together thousands of visitors and residents to enjoy activities and entertainment, the Strawberry Stampede, hundreds of art, craft and display booths, ethnic foods, and of course, scrumptious strawberry treats of all kinds in shortcakes, funnel cakes, milkshakes, ice cream and by the box!

The wonderful May weather and ambiance of the historic downtown village also add to the festivals merriment.

Thousands of visitors from all our western states attend or participate in the festival. If you plan on attending, we recommend making your lodging reservations at least six months in advance. Admission is free but bring money for food, drink and children’s game booths.

June 6: Morro Bay Olympic Distance Triathlon. ECOSLO and All Out Events present the First Annual Morro Bay Olympic Distance Triathlon.
